Accessibility

Cool Symbols's approach to keyboard access, readable content, motion, contrast, copy feedback, and accessibility issue reports.

Our approach

Cool Symbols aims to make its primary tasks usable with a keyboard, touch input, screen magnification, and common assistive technologies. Accessibility is treated as part of the product, not an optional overlay.

Current features

  • A skip link and semantic page landmarks.
  • Visible focus styles and keyboard-operable controls.
  • Text alternatives and accessible names for symbol buttons.
  • Live status messages after copy actions.
  • Color choices designed for strong contrast in both themes.
  • Reduced motion support when the operating system requests it.
  • Responsive layouts and horizontal overflow for wide data tables.

Known considerations

Screen readers may announce Unicode symbols differently depending on the browser, voice, and language. The interface pairs characters with text names wherever practical. The appearance of a symbol can also change with the user's font and platform.

Report a problem

If a task is difficult to complete, include the page, device, browser, assistive technology, and the result you expected when you contact us. That context helps reproduce the issue.
