One character, several ways to enter it
The symbol you copy has a stable Unicode identity, while its keyboard shortcut and visual design can change by device.
A code point such as U+20AC identifies €. It does not guarantee a universal keyboard shortcut.
Two apps can render the same character with slightly different proportions, stroke weight, or emoji styling.
U.S., UK, international, and language-specific layouts place additional characters on different keys.
Modern UTF-8 apps handle these symbols well. Very old systems or narrow fonts may display a replacement box.
Before you paste
How do I copy a symbol?
Search or browse, then select a symbol card. The exact Unicode character is copied to your clipboard so you can paste it into another app.
Can I search with the symbol itself?
Yes. Paste a character, type its name, use a related word, or enter a value such as U+20AC.
Why does the pasted symbol look different?
The destination font and operating system choose the final glyph design. The Unicode character can stay the same even when its visual style changes.
Why is a character missing from the list?
Unicode is enormous, so this tool focuses on practical symbols people regularly type. Use your operating system character viewer for scripts and specialized notation not covered here.
